It will be tricky for me to stop working on my project when my time block is up. and when I do, the risk is that I grab my phone and spend the next 30 minutes scrolling. So I'd like to come up with a "transition out of the work" ritual that helps me close my document AND walk away from the screen.
I might have to full stop go for a walk, do some kind of movement, cook, something that shifted my attention completely and yes didn’t include my phone. Even doing the dishes. lol lol which definitely need to be done.
that's a good idea! I shall do that and put my phone away. that's a good first step! simple, thank you.
Also, I will be working on my laptop so there's also a risk that I'll stay stuck there. Ideally, I want to get up! But getting up is hard for me when I don't know where I'm supposed to be going :D
Over the next 4 weeks, I want to finish my assignment.
I'm doing this because I have done so much already and want to maintain the momentum. It will also free up head space for other things.
Success would feel like: showing up daily, making noticeable progress (2 complete logs /week), while also noticing my limits / energy level and adjusting the plan as needed.
Things that might trip me up: other ideas, projects, my energy, and people (well, not people, but me spending my energy on connections).
Support: body doubling, experiment with different times each week, a visual tracker, and a "transition out" ritual when I'm finished for the day.
Check in ritual: I'll check in daily on WhatsApp (if people join) and probably in the chat.
My PACT: I will work on the assignment for 1 hour (2 hours stretch) every day, Mon-Fri (this is for next week).
---
I'm celebrating that now I have already completed the main chunk of my week 1. It feels nice that this is "enough" and I don't have to actually get to work yet. That's for next week!
Support request!

What are some ideas?

Could you use online timers or a digital alarm clock rather than using your phone so you don’t have to pick it up atall?
