Self & Parts (IFS) and Neurodivergence - Unmasking vs Unburdening

A recording from Hanna Keiner (she/her) and Christina Afoke's live video

Hello everyone,

Today, I am sharing another recorded conversation with you, but don’t worry, Purposeful Connection is not turning into a podcast series. One of the things I love about writing this newsletter is that I can follow my own interests and curiosities—and take you along for the ride.

This week,

and I spoke about Internal Family Systems and how it relates to the push and pull between our autistic and ADHD parts.

Here are some ideas and phrases that stuck with me from the conversation:

  • parts language is a really accessible concept that helps us name our internal experience.

  • it’s about curiosity & spaciousness—giving the different parts of ourselves some room to be.

  • there are ways to create exercises and practices where some of our parts are invited to come out and play.

  • it’s a really flexible and compassionate framework.

I hope you enjoyed our chat. And—please join the conversation. What are your reflections? What questions do you have?
