“These lessons don’t stay learned.” Yes! I wish there was a word in the english language for the gladness and delight of re-remembering an important insight that you, for whatever reason, lost sight of.

Do you experience this just as gladness and delight? For me that word would also need to include a sprinkle of frustration that I need to learn some of these lessons over and over and over again.

Haha very true!

holy cow do I agree, Allison. it is such a specific experience and deserves a word.

Voice notes are totally where it's at with me and my two AuDHD friends, one long distance and one a half hour away but, like me, somewhat restricted by chronic health stuff capacity. Love this conversation - asynchronous communication and co-regulation is so helpful. I love that I get a chance to share to completion and listen without having to be still.. and as you say, avoid intimacy while building it too. Brilliant!

thank you for watching and sharing your experience, Morgana! "a chance to share to completion and listen without having to be still" -- yes!! and sometimes we'll even pause each other's notes, respond to a specific point, and then resume listening. It's like interrupting but without... actually interrupting anything.

Glad the part about avoiding intimacy (yuck, haha) while building it resonated!

Really appreciate you both putting words and nuance to this topic. And yes to the pausing, responding (before you forget!) and going back later :)
