I’m so excited that so many of you have already signed up to our Draw the line(s) gathering this Thursday at 10am PT. There is still time to sign up!
You might be wondering: why are we getting together to make art when the world is on fire? The amazing Amie McNee nails it:
Watching this TEDx talk also made me think about AI generated “art” and the connection to perfectionism. AI might be able to draw “perfect” lines, but perfection is not what this is about, is it?
→ What is it about for you? Why do you create art?
Lean into your humanness
During our gathering, I invite you to lean into your humanness.
Bring your messiness, vulnerability, and imperfections!
Invite playfulness, awe, curiosity, and experimentation.
Be human, notice when things feel tricky, and see what happens when we come together, imperfectly, trying something new.
Printable Practice Sheets
If you’d like some extra guidance during our Draw the line(s) gathering, I created practice sheets for you. These are not required for the event, but I thought some of you might find these helpful. You can download them here:
My Line Shapes
And then finally, I want to share the basic line shapes I use with you. My drawings are usually a combination of “waves”, “shells”, and “mountains”. I’ll share these with you during the demonstration part of the event, but thought it might be helpful for you to see them now.
I look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday! Here’s the sign up link one more time:
Can't wait for this! I love your line drawings 💞
